The Hemp Industry is most exciting to me because of the environmental benefits, health benefits, and business opportunities, improving the triple - bottom line (planet, people profit). Founder and Owner
Since 2018, Drew Kitt has been the owner, operator, and hemp enthusiast of Two Moons CBD & Wellness and his focus for the business has two prongs: promotion and demystification. He’s intent on supporting the hemp farms, growers, herbalists, and products of local hemp producers, as well as established hemp and CBD purveyors nationally. He is equally keen to educate the uninitiated newcomer and the curious consumer about the nature and benefits of CBD products, as well as regenerative agriculture, and the vibrant local resources available to us in this region. For Drew, the average person needs to be able to find sources of health and wellness beyond just a trip to the pharmacy. Both efforts - support and education - are important and possible in the 21st century.
Drew’s understanding of hemp - from the agricultural to the medicinal – is vast. Customers of Two Moons value his breadth of knowledge and his integrity. He is way more interested in problem solving and educating than he is on merely moving product off the shelves. He has a reputation as the person to talk to in town about hemp & CBD related questions.
Drew’s first exposure to cannabis was as a child in the mid 70’s living in a commune on Eastern Long Island, NY. From his youth in NY to his leaving a scholarship at Hofstra University to head West, follow The Grateful Dead and travel during his twenties, both hemp and cannabis - like his bandmates, friends and fellow travelers - were companions and teachers showing him a way to live well and more fully.
After returning East in the mid 90’s to be closer to family, and managing hemp businesses in Burlington, VT, Drew came to Asheville where he earned a Business degree in Management and later his MBA in Sustainability. He has consulted with companies in the aviation, renewable energy, real estate, and hemp industries. His ability to generate leads, develop business, manage sales, marketing, and supply chain logistics reaped profits for those businesses.
Drew also works with established breeders selling hemp seed genetics, serves as a sales rep for several providers of tangible goods and services throughout the hemp supply chain and facilitates export/import/domestic transportation logistics. When he’s not at Two Moons, and engaging somehow with the hemp industry either as a consultant or developing business, he is watching and playing lacrosse (another lifelong passion) with his children, and creating adventures with his photographer wife Jesse.
Co-Owner
Jesse followed her heart to the Blue Ridge Mountains from California over 20 years ago. Drawn to native cultures and Appalachian herbalism, Jesse is passionate about learning about plants, making plant medicine, and bringing healing plant medicines [beyond hemp] to South Asheville. Beyond herbalism, Jesse has been a professional photographer for 15 years specializing in environmental portraits. She is a lover of poetry that slays her, has a knack for treasure hunting, and a flair in the kitchen for Californian cuisine.
